Day 3--Minecraft ⛏ and Monuments 🌄

Kristen:

Today we played Minecraft in real life!⛏🧱

We dug up the dirt and rock with wooden pick axes and shovels in the trenches, and some of us even got to use a jackhammer! 👷🏻‍♀️We also started a new project of building bunk beds 🛏 for staff and future service groups. 💛

Theo:

Something I learned this week was how to cut wood. 🪵 Our group was split with one part of the group digging and the other cutting wood. As a group, we learned how to work together to achieve a similar goal. 👏🏾

Something memorable we did was tar a roof with Mr. Atwell for the pastor’s house. 🏠 For the diggers, the jackhammer 🔨was brought out to remove a big rock 🪨, which was pretty cool. 😎

Kristen:

Work ended early at 2pm today so that we could go see the Navajo National Monument 🏞, which was very cool because some of us even received a junior ranger badge.🎖 The jelly and meat sticks were definitely a highlight of the gift shop. 🤤

For dinner, we all roasted hot dogs 🌭 and marshmallows🔥, which turned out great. One of our Experience Mission [the missions group organizing our collaboration with the Tse Ee Gai church] leaders, Claire, successfully tricked all of us that roasting watermelons 🍉 was a thing in Michigan🧤!

We ended the night with a prayer meeting to pray for the needs of our group members.

Prayer Requests:

Please pray for our final full day in Navajo Nation tomorrow (Thursday), that the Lord would give each of us the strength to continue serving with all our hearts, minds, and hands. Pray for the good health and attitudes of all our members and for the continued deepening of friendships and sharing of testimonies with one another.

Ahéhee' dóó hágoónee'! (Thank you and see you later!)
